Malgund is a small village about 2km away from Ganpatipule, in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. It has a beautiful beach which is a great attraction to tourists. There are quite a few tourist resorts very close to the beach.
Malgund is the birth place of famous Marathi poet Keshavsut. A monument and a museum have been built in his memory which gives information on Marathi poets and Marathi literature.
Malgund is accessible by road from Ganpatipule. Nearest railway station is Ratnagiri. Summers are hot and humid. Best time to visit is after the monsoons.
